Disability Support Worker

DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER Young 

LFE provides intensive training and support (some 24:7) to people with challenged abilities;
within people’s own homes, the community and the Day Activity Centre’s, in line with participant’s
NDIS goals and organisational policies.

Essential criteria:

  • High standard of communication skills including: computer; report writing; liaison/people
  • Ability to train/teach
  • Available to work all shifts – weekdays, evenings, sleepovers and weekends
  • Exponent of people’s rights
  • High level of self motivation and ethics
  • High standard of interpersonal skills, including self awareness
  • Ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment
  • Willingness to undertake relevant courses/studies if required
  • Assist with personal care when required
  • Assist with medication when required
  • Full employment history; also include the year and level you completed your schooling

Essential licenses and checks:

  • Covid 19 Vaccination – Digital certificate to be provided
  • Current driver’s licence – copy to be provided
  • RMS Driving Record – copy to be provided
  • Satisfactory National Police check – less than 6 months old (to be provided with application)
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Orientation Certificate is mandatory prior to commencement: Learn More

Community Connections

Disability Support Worker – Community Connections

LFE Community Supports is seeking honest, hardworking individuals who are passionate about
being a mentor/role model to adults and children with challenged abilities who can assist them to
work toward their goals as outlined in their NDIS Plans.

Community Connection's aim is to support our participants to pursue their passions and achieve
their goals while increasing daily living skills, building confidence in social interaction and
encourage community connections. This may be within their own home, through one-on-one
support or group activities, weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Morning, afternoon and weekend shifts make it a flexible role to suit your lifestyle.

Essential Criteria:

  • An interest in working with people with challenged abilities and from different cultural
    backgrounds
  • High communication and listening skills
  • High computer skills
  • Available for all shifts: including weekends and evenings
  • High level of self-motivation and ethics with a common-sense approach
  • High standard of interpersonal skills, including self-awareness
  • Comfortable to work independently as well as an active team member
  • Advocate on behalf of participants when necessary
  • Assist with Personal Care when necessary
  • Assist with Medication when necessary
  • Full employment history, including level and year you completed your education

Licenses and checks needed:

Commercial Laundry

LFE Community Supports is seeking an honest, hardworking laundry hand who can also be a
positive role model to adults with challenged abilities to assist the team within our Commercial
Laundry Service.
The LFE Laundry provides employment to our NDIS Participants who have challenged abilities
while employing a small local team to provide a quality service to the Young, Boorowa, Temora,
West Wyalong and Wagga regions.

Essential criteria:

  • An interest in working with people with challenged abilities and from different cultural
    backgrounds
  • High communication and listening skills
  • Good computer skills
  • High level of self-motivation and ethics with a common sense approach
  • High standard of interpersonal skills, including self-awareness
  • Knowledge and understanding of WHS
  • Comfortable to work independently as well as an active team member
  • Competent to make deliveries in a small and large van within Young and out of town
  • Full employment history, including level and year you completed your education

Licenses and checks needed:
